Introduction

We believe that educated owners and educated law enforcement officers are the key to a healthy horse community. To that end we are developing and presenting classes tailored to the needs of law enforcement officers when they have to investigate incidents of animal abuse.

Classes Already Presented

On June 20-21, 2011 PEARL, LEARN, and the ASPCA cosponsored a Large Animal Cruelty Investigations class in North Charleston, SC. The registration form and class syllabus is here.

On March 2-3, 2011 PEARL and TLAER cosponsored a 2 day Large Animal Cruelty Investigations course. The course was presented at the Anderson County Sheriff's Department training center. The press release can be found here. The Anderson Independent Mail published a story about the class here.

On June 21-22, 2008 PEARL and the Anderson County Sheriff's Department sponsored a 2 day Equine Awareness and Safety seminar taught by Mr. Brian Dees. The seminar was specifically designed for law enforcement officers, animal control officers, and first responders.
